Meeting 18: MEET WITH THE LEADER
Well that was interesting!
I think the claim group need to think about today’s exchanges. Quite a lot to digest. These are just some initial thoughts.
On a positive note SA stated
“There is no question of going to the claimants direct”
She’s committed to a settlement. Good. I think this puts to bed any suggestions of unilateral offers before Xmas. That alone made today worthwhile.
On the downside she’s also committed to “the process”, still thinks it’s “on track” and she has full confidence in her officers. Oh dear.
I think it’s fair to say she’s not a fan of mine. There’s an underlying narrative building that we (a4es rather than the unions) are a block to a settlement and we don’t reflect the claimants true feelings. External forces leading you astray.
That’s a shame because we don’t want litigation, we want a settlement too, but led by your rights and entitlement, not led by their budget. But I stress this is merely my impression not something said directly.
Nevertheless it was helpful that she met us, and I believe her heart is in the right place. I think she’s boxed in by the officers and accountants. As a result I think it’s more likely than not they’ll go back to tribunal. But we will see.
As I said we need to reflect on other issues over the next few days
