SUCCESS AND FAILURE
After a rather bad week last week we are finally turning things around.
You need to understand that there is a lot to do between you signing the forms and you getting your money. Every single document needs to be checked, scanned, logged, mistakes removed, boxed and couriered to lawyers. Then they have to check and sign legal documents. Only then do they send to the council. The council then repeats the process at its end and then authorises payment but that’s yet another department.
The good news is that 99% of the forms returned so far have been ok.
Of A4ES 8000 offers we have sent 2900 to our lawyers for them to approve. They will then send to the council. I don’t have the numbers for the other teams.
MISTAKES - the bank mandate is the most difficult form - IT MUST BE SIGNED. Just ticking the box is not enough. That’s the most common mistake.
TIPEX IS A NO NO. correcting mistakes with tipex is not allowed. Make corrections by hand or get a replacement form.
So far so good really. This is a much lower mistake rate than before, so we are very happy. The video etc worked.
The next biggest problem is people moving without telling us , so a dozen offers have been returned.
We will address offers not arriving next week in a further update.
Have a good weekend.
Update UPDATE. Karl and the team still working. Only ones at weekends. They have received 2100 today and will be ready to send 5000 up to our lawyers in Glasgow Monday. Sadly not sure they’ll be as efficient.
But WELL DONE KARL AND TEAM
